There are so many ways to eat the young.

I should know.

Limb from limb, every cut a different shade and texture.

 

The hands, lest them use their own tools.

The feet, lest them walk their own paths.

The tongue, lest them speak their own words.

And the brain.

Oh, the brain is the best of all.

 

A slow burn, but all the more rewarding.

 

Tell them to read the books you write and do the work you give

To think that way you do.

And most incredibly, convince them to derive their own self-worth from your crippling and delusional expectations.

 

Lead the children down the road with breadcrumbs – they don’t know better – until they are drowning in a whirlpool of your ancient fallacies.

 

When the carcasses have been cleaned bone-dry, then you may wash yourself of the blood on your hands, and move on to the next meal.
